THE COMMITMENT

Creating a Long-Form Legacy Video is a process and it's a commitment. It all starts with our easy online onboarding. Through our dedicated client portal, you'll answer questions about your life, family, career, and the topics you'd like to cover. You’ll also provide details about any media you’d like to include—such as 8mm film, VHS, digital video, slides, or photographs—in the privacy of your own home and all at your own pace. Once we have fully onboarded you we will begin pre-production.

PRE-PRODUCTION PROCESS

Once onboarding is complete, we’ll review your information and schedule a meeting in person or via Google meeting to discuss your vision and the ideas we have developed based on the information you provided during the onboarding process. During this meeting we'll plan shoot dates, finalize ideas, and arrange media collection. Don't worry it's not as complicated as it sounds—our past clients have all commented on how fun, enjoyable and straightforward the process actually is!

PRODUCTION PROCESS

We like to keep things comfortable and discreet. When it's time to film, our Founder, Laura, and our Director of Production, Ryan, will arrive to your location.

A typical shoot day follows this schedule:

8:00–10:00 AM: Setup and interview prep

10:00 AM–12:00PM: Interview session

1:00–3:00 PM: Continued interviews

3:00–4:00 PM: Wrap-up and breakdown

Interview sessions typically take 2 days but may go longer depending on the options and topics you want to cover. After our interview days are concluded we shoot what is known as B-Roll. This is supporting video that is used to help tell your story, this could include a walk down your childhood street, or a shot of you enjoying your favorite pass time. B-Roll often takes 2 days to complete and again could run longer or shorter depending on your options and if you need to be present during the recording of B-Roll.

POST-PRODUCTION PROCESS

This is where the magic happens. Our editing process for long form video typically between takes 4–8 weeks, depending on the amount of footage and media involved. These delivery times may also vary during times of high volume. If you require expedited service please let us know and we can arrange expedited serviced for an additional cost.

Once complete, you'll receive a digital download link for easy sharing, along with a physical master on an archival Blu-ray disk, as well a copy on a archival grade thumb drive.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I GET NERVOUS IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA, WHAT IF I MESS UP?

That’s completely normal! Our team is patient, supportive, and experienced in making people feel comfortable. If you stumble over your words, we can always pause and try again—there’s no pressure. We guide you through the process, making it feel more like a relaxed conversation than a formal interview. Many of our clients start off nervous but quickly find themselves enjoying the experience. Once you begin sharing your stories, you might even forget the camera is there!

HOW AND WHO DECIDES WHAT QUESTIONS TO ASK?

We collaborate with you—and, if you choose, your family—to understand the key moments and themes of your story. From there, we thoughtfully craft questions that feel natural and meaningful, designed to draw out your memories and personality. Our goal is to guide the conversation in a way that feels comfortable while capturing the essence of your journey.

HOW WILL YOU ACQUIRE MEDIA FROM ME?

We’ll ask you to gather any photos, videos, and documents that help tell your story. These can be shared with us in person or easily uploaded through our secure client portal. If you have physical media—such as film reels or printed photographs—we can either guide you through the digitization process or handle it for you. Please note that digitization services are additional. Please contact us directly at 631-970-4725 M-F 9am-5pm EST or email [email protected] for more information.

MY LOVED ONE'S MEMORY ISN'T GREAT. WHAT IF THEY GET OVERWHELMED OR FRUSTRATED?

We understand and are experienced in working with individuals facing memory challenges. We take a gentle, flexible approach, adjusting the pace as needed. If they feel overwhelmed, we’ll pause, take breaks, or guide the conversation in a way that feels natural. We also use prompts like photos, music, or familiar objects to help spark memories. Our priority is creating a calm, supportive environment where they can share at their own pace.

WE'RE NOT LOCATED IN LOS ANGELES OR NEW YORK, DO YOU TRAVEL?

Yes, we are available to travel worldwide. For productions that are longer than one day or located more than 90 minutes from us, a travel fee is required. Travel costs will be estimated and provided to you before your onboarding session.

WHAT IF I DON'T WANT, OR HAVE THE BUDGET FOR A FULLY POLISHED VIDEO LIKE THE ONES SHOWN?

We understand that budget is an important factor, and we don’t want it to stand in the way of sharing your story. That’s why we offer flexible options, including interview-only sessions without editing, as well as shorter, more affordable packages. Our fully edited short-form packages start at $3,000. For those working within a budget, we recommend capturing your story in shorter segments or telling it one chapter at a time over a period of time. Every story is unique—and so are the needs that come with it. If you would like us to customize a package for you please contact us directly at 631-970-4725 M-F 9am-5pm EST or email [email protected].

WHAT IS REQUIRED TO MAKE A RESERVATION AND WHAT PAYMENT OPTIONS DO YOU OFFER?

To reserve your spot, you'll first need to complete an onboarding session. Once complete and the budget is accepted, a 50% deposit of the total package price is required. If travel is required, travel costs will be added to the base deposit. Upon arrival at your location, an additional 25% is due, with the remaining balance due once the edit is complete. We accept all major credit or debt cards as well as Apple Pay and Google Play.

WHAT KIND OF MUSIC CAN I USE IN THE FINAL EDIT?

We have access to literally thousands of music tracks, background music, and more, all included at no extra cost. These tracks come with a full license for use on any social media platform or website.

WHAT IF I WANT TO USE MUSIC BY MY FAVORITE ARTIST?

Yes, you can use music by your favorite artist. However, keep in mind that social media platforms have filters that automatically scan for copyrighted content and could result in a take down request and/or your ability to use your account, therefore choosing to use copy written music is done so at your own risk. We do not recommend using copyrighted material if you plan to host your video online and we accept no responsibility for this option.
